Large Munsterlanders

Large Munsterlanders are first and foremost gundogs bred to hunt, point and retrieve game. They work naturally whether in your garden or out on a walk. When people ask me what they are like I compare them to a cross between a border collie and a spaniel. Munsters are extremely biddable, eager to learn and adore human contact. They are incredibly affectionate, love laps & cuddles, irrelevant of how wet and muddy they are! In the right hands they make wonderful pets, excellent gundogs, are more than capable of doing obedience & agility. Also, something which I love is the similarity between the show dog and the working dog, not the case with a lot of other gundog breeds.

Ashlowrick Ingleswood (Willow)

Willow, our Large Munsterlander bitch. (Hip score 2, 2. BVA/KC Eye Scheme Clear). More pictures at bottom of page.

Willow is a complete delight. Willing, affectionate, bidable with a lovely calm temperament. She excels at everything she tries, obedience and gun dog training.

After deciding to mate Willow I then spent 12 months choosing a suitable dog. Not knowing much about Munster pedigrees it took a long time and a few changes of mind. I eventually decided to approach Carol Saunders who owns Jasper as he had the most wonderful temperament (most important), superb conformation and type.

Willow was mated with Jasper on 2nd and 4th Nov 2008, puppies were born on 9th January 2009. See puppies page for pictures.

Crumpsbrook Acacia (Cassie)

Our aim in breeding from Willow was to keep a bitch puppy, Cassie had no intention of leaving us and soon became a member of the Bargman family . She is everything we could have hoped for and more, such a bright person, and has fitted in with our 2 Shepherds really well. Like all Munster pups she is full of energy and loves her cuddles of an evening. Hopefully she has inherited her mums intelligence and willingness to learn .

Jasper ,Cassie and Willow a lovely opportunity for a family photo

Cassie went to Peterborough championship show on the 12th July and overwhelmed Chris and I, by getting the best bitch pup and best pup in breed, not bad for her first champ show. Jasper gained another c.c. to add to his extensive collection.

The Munster has beauty, brains & temperament. It's up to the owner to channel that. A breed we have fallen in love with, one which is hard to beat.
