German Shepherd Dogs, Large Munsterlanders and Dog Training
Puppies eating 3 times a day giving Cassie a little reprieve. Their teeth are through and are already feeling pin like! They are having Burns Mini-bites porridge, minced chicken, eggs and evaporated milk.
Date: February 6, 2012
Decided to try and help Cassie a little by seeing if the puppies were interested in their Burns Mini-Bites puppy food. As you can see they were, but table manners left a little to be desired!
Date: January 31, 2012
Puppies up and about if a little unsteady especially when trying to bark. All taken to lapping evapourated milk and progressing really well.

Date: January 31, 2012
All eyes are now open and the puppies are getting mobile and starting to interact with each other.
They had their first worming treatment today without too much fuss. It gets tougher from now on as they know what to expect.
Cassie seems to be thriving on motherhood and is eating us out of house and home. She has as much as she wants with all those tummies to fill.
Date: January 25, 2012
Puppies continue to grow and develop. The littlest girl that we call Quill has surprised us by being the first to open her eyes.

Cassie is proving to be a very caring mother. She is so careful when getting in and out of the whelping box. She is managing to feed all the puppies herself and we are doing our bit by feeding her regularly and as much as she wants. She is enjoying going out into the field to see Willow and Ebby for a few minutes and checking out smells of pheasants and rabbits that may may have gone by. She soon lets us know she wants to go back and see her babies.

Cassie had a trouble free whelping producing 11 lovely strong puppies, 7 girls, 4 boys. I am really pleased with the quality, I don’t know how Cassie fitted all 11 in her tummy, bless her. She has recovered and is proving to be a wonderful mother. See Large Munsterlanders – Puppies 2012 page.

Great news ! Cassie successfully scanned and confirmed in pup. All looked well. No confirmation of number of puppies but we saw at least 4.

Crumpsbrook Robinia (Oscar), Cassie’s litter brother, won our first Reserve Challenge Certificate at Midland Counties. Many congratulations to Holly who handles Oscar in the show ring and to Mandy his owner.

The object of the Natural Aptitude Test (NAT) is to look for the natural working ability in the hunt, point and retrieve gun-dog. The NAT is divided into 7 parts; hunting, pointing, gun-shyness, swimming, retrieving, tracking and biddability. each part is judged and marked separately. We do not work Cassie but she has always shown the ability to be a good working dog so decided to brush up on her gun-dog skills and enter the NAT.
The test was arranged by the Large Munsterlander Club and held at Cowbog Farm, Kelso, Scotland.
I am very pleased to say Cassie passed all parts and gained her certificate of Natural Aptitude In The Field.
The picture below is of our friends Kate and Matt with their lovely boy Dougie who also passed his certificate.

Cassie taking in the big occasion before her class.
Crumpsbrook Large Munsterlanders had a fantastic day at DFS Crufts 2011. Cassie (Crumpsbrook Acacia) exceeded my expectations by gaining a second place in Post Graduate in a large class of quality bitches.
She really loves the big occasion and showed her socks off !
Standing for the Judge, Mrs Pamela Blay, to write her critique.
Cassie and her brother Oscar (Crumpsbrook Robinia) shown by Holly gained a well deserved 3rd Place in Post Graduate Dog.
